Focus: Hold the shutter Button down halfway. Use both hands to take pictures and hold the camera still. Keep the camera close to your body.
Lighting
(Artificial vs. Natural): Sun should always be over your shoulder, have a good back lighting, clouds are a good thing.
Rule of thirds: Divides a picture shot into 9 grids (object should be in one of the middle corners of the grid), move subject from the center of the picture
Importance of background: Eliminate unnecessary items in the pictures background. Plain Backgrounds are best.
